Skyforest has deep history interwoven with that of the San Bernardino Mountains, a summer hunting ground for indigenous people for thousands of years. Prior to the founding of the local USPS in 1928, residents referred to their community as Forest of The Sky. The Plott, Kuffel and Henck families were among the first to homestead Skyforest, which grew with the logging industry of the 20th century.
Skyforest has many famous icons to explore in the “forest in the sky” of the San Bernardino Mountains. Skypark at Santa’s Village, an outdoor North-Pole themed adventure park where you are active in the experience. In addition to adventure attractions, Skypark offers bars, restaurants, shops, events and RV Campgrounds. The original park opened 6 weeks before Disneyland in 1955 and was located in 230 acres of land, the nature trails were called “Fantasy Forest at Santa’s Village”
Heap’s Peak Arboretum is another famous attraction to explore in Skyforest. Visit award-winning LouEddie’s Pizza, one of Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants in the US where you dine in the forest in Willow Woods park. Willow Woods is home to some of the oldest trees in the San Bernardino forest and magical place for weddings and events. Fresh home-style Mexican food and outdoor dining is an amazing forest-experience at Rosalva’s.
