This is a remote, hike-in-only, first come first served campsite and no reservations accepted. It is recommended for hikers who brave the famous Pacific Crest Trail, one of the best trail experiences on Earth. Since it is hike-in-only, you must keep everything you need on your back. It has campfire rings only, and there are no other facilities or water at this site. A United States Forest Service Adventure Pass ($5 per day or $30 for the year) is required for parking. Directions: Located between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake, near Green Valley, take Hwy-18, just east of Running Springs, turn left on Green Valley Road. Go 2.6 miles and turn left on a dirt road signed for Crab Flats 3N16 and follow the signs to the campgrounds.
