Botanical Gardens & Educational Forest Walking Trails
This is a great adventure and learning experience for the entire family. With many Kiosks placed throughout the Arboretum, you will find information about the San Bernardino Mountain area. Located at 6,000 ft. elevation in the National Forest this beautiful place is full of natural beauty. Heaps Peak’s unique Arboretum and Botanical Gardens feature a diversity of native plants, flowers, trees, and birds. Walk along the Sequoia Trail where you will see indigenous trees like the Arizona Cypress, Sugar Pines, Black Oaks, White Fir, and Dogwoods. With plenty of benches along the trail, you can sit, relax, and observe the wildlife, especially the birds. Heaps Peak Arboretum is open 365 days a year and is free to the public, however an Adventure Pass is required for parking. There are restrooms, drinking fountains, and some paths are paved making it ideal for strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers.
