Picnicking at Green Valley Lake attracts visitors seeking clean air, blue skies, crystal-clear water, and the serenity and calm beauty of a quiet forested community. This beautiful picnic area is located next to Green Valley Lake in the mountains north of Arrowbear. Just look for the sign at the midway point between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear just off Hwy-18. Enjoy a picnic under the tall trees where there are picnic tables, barbecue facilities, a volleyball court, and restrooms in the adjoining area. There are hiking trails and plenty of opportunities for bird watching, admiring wildflowers, mountain biking, camping, and in the winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The nine-acre lake is regularly stocked for fishing, and in summer you can rent a rowboat or kayak and go swimming as well. Next to the lake you will find Green Valley General Store to purchase any last-minute picnic items.
