Green Valley Lake, just 14.5 miles east of Lake Arrowhead on Hwy-18 is where you can enjoy birdwatching and wildflowers blooming. This “best kept secret on the mountain” is secluded and surrounded by National Forest at 7000 ft. elevation, a higher resort community than either Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear. It is a small, picturesque lake that really comes alive in spring with an abundance of flowers, wildlife, and birds. Along with this, it is known for fishing, swimming, kayaking, picnicking, hiking, and camping. Stop by the little community of Green Valley Lake to enjoy the spectacular spring season and be sure to bring your binoculars and camera. You can also make a stop in beautiful Running Springs before you get there, Farmer’s Market, furniture and wood carvings, great restaurants– there’s always something happening here.
