Historic Lake Arrowhead, with its sapphire blue waters, is in the San Bernardino mountains surrounded by majestic Pine, Cedar, and Dogwood trees. For decades visitors and celebrities alike have been attracted to its majestic beauty as a getaway from the hectic city life below. It is the largest private lake in California, and though it is not open to the public, it is still possible to enjoy the water by chartering a boat, hopping aboard the Arrowhead Queen for a tour, or go water skiing at McKenzie Water Ski School. Plus, it is always a good time at the Lake Arrowhead Village situated on the south shore for dining, shopping, free concerts, special events, July 4th Fireworks, a colorful sunset, or just experiencing the up-close spectacular views. There are many nearby resorts, inns, and rentals where you can easily stroll to the lake, and some places do have “lake rights” for swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking around the shoreline. You can obtain lake rights if you own property in the Arrowhead Woods area, and then become a member of the Arrowhead Lake Association.
